1. Mechanical Eyelash Curlers

I love curling my eyelashes, I seriously cannot live without it! My makeup almost always consists of mascara and lipgloss, so curling my eyelashes is a must. My eyelashes aren't short, but they're so straight, it's like they're nonexistant.
I use ELF's "Mechanical Eyelash Curler." This is my first and only eyelash curler, so I can't tell you how much better or worse it is than other ones. However, I have tried friends' curlers and have found them ineffective, so I'm really glad that I bought one that works for me.
I would love a Shu Uemura eyelash curler-- I definitely have to get one someday.
But my ELF curler does it's job.
Quick about me: I'm Chinese. I have single eyelids, but my eyes aren't small.
"This innovative eyelash curler has a special curved design which angles to suit all eye shapes. Its silicone rubber pad applies the appropriate amount of pressure to curl lashes naturally and allows for damage-free heating. Get long-lasting curled lashes both easily and safely. Add a swipe of e.l.f. Water & Earth Mascara and curled lashes remain in perfect shape all day."

With Curler/Without mascara: First of all, not much of a visible difference in eyelashes. I would say that it's stays curled for maybe an hour before it turns back into pin-straight lashes.

With Curler/With mascara: It's GREAT!!! I love how visible my eyelashes suddenly become! It stays curled all day.

2. Pinching
My right eye (I'm right handed, by the way) experiences no pinching whatsoever, but when I use my curler on my left eye (with my left hand), it pinches the outer left edge of my eye. :C But the pinching is bearable, it doesn't take much pressure to curl my lashes anyway.
3. Price
One dollar! I actually got mine for free because I participated in a program.
4. Pads
It came with two. I'm using one, and I've got the other one stashed away... somewhere. The current one is in perfect condition.

5. Loss of lashes
I haven't experienced a loss of eyelashes, even when using the curler after putting on mascara (which I do sometimes). My eyelashes fall out sometimes when I rub my face too hard with my towel, so that gives you an idea of how easily my lashes fall out.
6. Heated
I've only tried heated once, but it didn't seem to make a great difference than my usual.
7. Pros
- Easy to use
- Effective
- Good curl
- Little to no pinching
- No loss of eyelashes
- Doesn't stick to eyelashes
- Extra replacement pad
- Cheap ($1)
8. Cons
- Would be hard to store in small spaces (I keep it in my bathroom mirror cabinet)
- Slight pinching

Oh my gosh! "EDIT: 1/26/09 - I understand that they have now changed the design of these and that the new ones are completely different than the ones I mention. So as a heads up - this review is for the old, black handled curler that is pictured above. "
I bought mine around Christmas time. I'm really curious to see the new design.

In conclusion, I love this, I cannot live without it, and I would definitely buy it again.
